Booking at a Type I Jail
Pomona police bring most of the people they arrest to this jail for booking. Jailers take the mug photo and fingerprints, then screen each person’s identity and health. The city calls it a Type I facility, which state rule 15 CCR 1006 defines as holding people no more than 96 hours after booking, excluding holidays.
Who Goes Home After Booking
The department says people who post bail or a bond, or who qualify for a citation, go home after booking. The rest, the department adds, stay at the jail for arraignment, the first court hearing, in the Pomona Superior Court. Pomona City Jail Bail Bond FAQ

Call the jail at (909) 620-2131 with a name and birth date. The city says people not released stay there for arraignment, but its jailers move prisoners between L.A.-area jails. If the LASD inmate line, (213) 473-6100, places them at the Inmate Reception Center, we post there too.
Until arraignment, unless police or a magistrate release you sooner. Excluding Sundays and holidays, Penal Code 825 puts arraignment within 48 hours of arrest, or the next court session if court is not sitting then. The judge can grant own recognizance release, change conditions or keep bail. Ask a lawyer for advice.
The $1,000 is the bail itself, and paying it in cash means putting up the full amount. A bond costs a premium instead, a percentage of the bail at the rate filed with the California Department of Insurance. Our standard rate is 10%, and clients who qualify may get 8%.
