Pomona Superior Court Bail Bond FAQ

Until release or the end of the case. Arraignment comes first, within 48 hours of arrest under Penal Code 825, Sundays and holidays excluded, and the judge may grant own recognizance release there. If bail goes unpaid, Penal Code 1270.2 requires a bail review within five days of the order fixing bail.
It depends on your cash. Under Penal Code 1297, a relative who posts cash gets all of it back after judgment, within 10 days of showing the receipt; a defendant’s own deposit can first cover restitution, fines and costs. Bond premiums are non-refundable as a rule; see bail vs. bond.
Penal Code 1305 gives a defendant who misses court 180 days from forfeiture, or 185 days from the notice’s mailing date, to appear and get the bond exonerated. Under 1299.02, only police and licensed recovery agents may make paid arrests; 1299.08 has agents notify local police first, barring exigent circumstances.
