Penal Code 1270.1 names corporal injury to a partner (273.5) and domestic battery (243(e)(1)), so neither charge gets $0 release before arraignment. That leaves two choices: post the scheduled bail or wait for a hearing in open court.
Under Penal Code 815a, the judge who signs a warrant endorses its bail amount, and county $0 rules cover only warrantless arrests. With a walk-through bond, your relative picks a day to surrender and arrives with the bond prepared.
Petty theft of $950 or less falls under Cite and Release: an officer writes a citation with a court date, and your relative skips booking. Misdemeanors listed in Penal Code 1270.1, such as stalking, still need money bail or a hearing.
A felony warrant from another county falls under Penal Code 821, and a misdemeanor one under 822. Bail is the amount that county’s judge wrote on the warrant, and a no-bail warrant leaves nothing to post until a judge sets one.

Forfeiture is a judge’s order after a missed court date that puts the full bail at risk. Penal Code 1305 allows 180 days, plus five if the court mails notice; an appearance in that window vacates it and exonerates the bond. If not, the court enters judgment and the indemnitor repays it.
Dropped charges bring no premium refund. If we surrender your relative before a court date, 10 CCR 2090 requires us to return it, keeping limited costs only if we prove a substantial increase in risk. A judge can order a refund under Penal Code 1300(b) when our surrender lacked good cause.
